Y11 GCSE Music Students...
Just a reminder of some of the things you should be doing:
1. Attend revision sessions after school tonight and Thursday.
2. Listening to your playlists of the set works (over and over and over and over again. And again).
3. Using your notes, folders and revision guides to learn all the key words associated with each set work
4. Writing an essay answer to the following question: How does Bernstein use the following elements of music in 'Something's Coming'; Melody, Harmony, Rhythm, Texture, Word Setting
5. Balancing your revision time across your subjects, with sensible breaks (preferably in the sun)!

Raising the Grade
The Y10 GCSE group piled onto a minibus on Wednesday afternoon to zoom off to the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. They spent the afternoon clapping, stamping and singing along with Sinfonia Viva (a professional orchestra) and had a really good time!
This event was organised by the Nottinghamshire Music Hub, which provides you all with loads of great opportunities to get involved in making music outside of school time. If you want to find out more why not come and ask one of your music teachers, or check out this list of all the groups you could get involved with:

If you receive instrumental lessons then you are expected to be at school band on a Wednesday afternoon, 3:15pm - 4:00 pm. We have new music (James Bond and Mr Blue Sky) and need your help to sound amazing!
Similarly for vocalists, we should be seeing you at choir on a Tuesday afternoon for some singing fun! Anyone is welcome and new mash-ups include Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars...
